This Meeting: Lochiel House.
I have had this venue in the sights for a while, but waited for the weather to cool a bit. Lochiel House was awarded ‘Regional Restaurant of the Year’ in the 2011 Good Food Guide, and furthermore it is rated as TWO hats. So this month promises an excellent repast in very pleasant surroundings, with an enjoyable coach ride to the Blue Mountain’s escarpment thrown in.
It took a bit of persuasion to land this opportunity, so Curt and I have done all we can to make it a smooth and business-like arrangement. An excellent opportunity to introduce prospective members to B&B.

Not to be missed !

Last Meeting: Last Meeting: The Grand Parade, Brighton Le Sands.
We welcomed past members Greg Tardent and Ray Estall to join 17 members at our 250th meeting and 22nd Anniversary of Charter, back at our Charter Night venue, Le Sands.
A souvenir printed handout included a listing of all our 250 venues. Past reports and the original meeting book from the first years of the club were available for review.
Elizabeth and her team did us proud.

Canapés of Oysters natural, smoked salmon, and chorizo sausage accompanied the very well received Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin – Brut Champagne.

Entrée Tapas style, comprising: Tempura prawns, zucchini flowers, scallops with pancetta, and whitebait was accompanied by Jacobs Creek, Steingarten Riesling, 2003

Main course Beef fillet with chat potatoes and seasonal vegetables and Greek salads on the table. The masked win was a Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2002. The Horses A was won by Ryan Turner, well done.

Dessert Home-made tiramisu, accompanied by the sticky, Bache Gabrielsen,
Very Old Pineau Des Charentes.

An excellent day was had by all, and we have a new leader in the overall venue score to prove it, just a pity we couldn’t attract a few more of our past members
