WATERCRESS is a new restaurant in the Shire owned by Maureen Kearney who has had many different restaurants over the past 30 years.  It is in the old courthouse at Sutherland & I think it is fitting that we have our A.G.M. at a local venue.

LAST MEETING: LE PELICAN
The day started very well in the sunny courtyard enjoying French Champagne with fresh oysters & bruschetta.  We were made to feel very welcome & as we had the place to ourselves it felt very homely
& cosy as we sat down for lunch.  The sweetbread & snail entrée was tasty & the Barbera wine
was very well matched, it was the masked wine for the day, nobody actually picked the wine
but Peter Rozea won the Horses Arse for the best description.  The Honey glazed Duck breast was cooked
in a very traditional French style by chef Jean-Francois & the lovers of French food rated it very highly though some people thought it to be a shade undercooked.  The Pinot Noir was excellent with it. Everybody scored the Dessert highly & the Rutherglen Muscat was great. Overall comments indicated that everybody had a very enjoyable & memorable day.
