Kalevu is in Sylvania – at the base of Tom Uglys Bridge and beside Paul’s Hamburgers. Chef & owner Christopher is seen in the
distance working on our modern Australian cusine .

Last Meeting: Dunbar House
The sun gods were smiling on us, a perfect day 23 members and 6 guests. Numbers are on the increase which is good to see,
Ken and I appreciate your support. It was always going to be a great day. To get you in the mood we tempted you with beer and
prawns on the bus. On arrival an ice cold Corona was served followed by vintage Croser to help wash down the eggplant and
haloumi tartine, duck with rillettes and chorizo and tempura prawn. The entrée pan seared spatchcock, soft polenta tarragon
and mushroom was yum and went well with the Mount Pleasant Elizabeth Semillon. Ken organised a vertical tasting of the
2001 and 2004 vintage. There were mixed feelings as to which was the best. The main mustard crust beef fillet, pommes anna
and rocket salad scored well and were needed to absorb some of the alcohol. The 2000 Jacobs Creek Reserve Shiraz from the
cellar was a perfect choice. International cheese plate and Tokay was a nice finish we thought until Curt York indulged us with a
Demerara 5 year old premium rum thankyou Curt. Horses Arse was won by Chris Gray for the second time. Guest of Peter James
(we will have to nobble him)
