Chef Chris has designed a great menu for us to enjoy and judge on our 1st lunch for 2012.

What a great day for the xmas meeting, superb food prepared by chef Peter Padlan and excellent wines were enjoyed by those who attended and for the ones that missed out read and weep.

On arrival: two lots of vietnamese pork skewers and filo lamb cigars with mint and labna, washed down with a chilled Laurent - Perrier Brut NV Champagne.

Entrées Spiced quail medalions on onion puree asparagus & snow pea tendrils, matched perfectly with a buttery Domaine Chandon 2010 Chardonnay.

Main course A very tender grilled Venison with braised baby onions, carrots and salsa verde, roasted chats, mixed leaf salad, garlic, cloves and rosemary, accompanied by a smooth decanted 2000 Bowens Estate Shiraz & the horses was won for the 1st time by Peter Denham.

Dessert Bread and butter pudding with macadamia ice cream finished off with a Morris Liqueur Tokay taste test of standard and superior labels.
