Last Meeting: Etch - Bridge & Phillips Streets Sydney.
After we all found our interesting room in Etch, we were served with champagne, Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial. This was accompanied by lots of spicy olives marinated in orange, sherry & thyme. These were followed balls of fried goat’s cheese with vanilla & lavender scented honey which were hot slightly sweet & creamy. The entrée was spiced kingfish with orange & fennel salad which was light & tasty (may have been a little under salted). This was accompanied by 2008 Henschke Little Hampton Pinot Gris, mellow yellow in colour, faintly citrus with clean finish, herbaceous & dry. It almost over powered the kingfish.
The main was slices of 6-week dry aged organic Gundooee wagyu beef was served as rare slices and well done portions of baked meat & spicy sauce with creamy café de Paris butter & green beans. The masked red was 2000 Blue Pyrenees Richardson merlot. The Horse’s Arse was won by Bryan Alexander - Congratulations ! The dessert was a sweet rum (15 year old Matusalem gran reserve) baba with

This Meeting:VULCANS – Blackeheath
It has been some time since we have had a long lunchtrip. We are going to Vulcans, a regional 2 hat little restaurant in the Blue Mountains. An early start is required to be at Blakeheath by lunchtime. We require at least 35 to break even, so guests are essential. I will contact each member to inform them of the day.
