This Meeting: Bistro Ortolan - Leichhardt
Situated in the middle of the Italian area of Sydney, Bistro Ortolan is one of Sydney’s finest french restaurants.
It carries 2 chefs hats from SMH Good Food Awards. This will probably be the best food I present this year. Jenny & Paul McGrath opened Bistro Ortolan in September 2006. Paul originated & trained in Ireland, and has worked in London & Europe. He arrived in Sydney in1997. He has worked in a wide range of kitchens & he has personally cooked for the rich and famous, including Queen Elizabeth, the Sultan of Brunei and Princess Mary and Prince Frederick of Denmark.
The restaurant is opening especially for us and is expecting a minimum of 30, so if you have a friend who enjoys good cuisine bring him along as a guest. He will thank you for the experience.

Last Meeting:Bistro Moore - Olympic Hotel
15 members & 3 visitors attended the match of food & wine at Moore Park. We started with
sparkling 2005 Pentaluma Croser & canapés. The entree was Rabbit Rillettes with pickled baby carrots & cauliflower served with 2007 Mayfield Vineyard Riesling from Orange. The main was Roasted Kurobuta Pork Fillet, witlof, potato fondant & parsnip puree. The side dishes were potato puree & mixed green salad. The masked red was 2003 Chatto Pinot Noir from the Tamar Valley, Tasmania. Byran Alexander won the Horse’s Arse for the second month running.
Congratulations Bryan ! The meal was finished with Rhubarb & Ginger Sorbet with honeycomb, marshmallow & hazelnut biscuits, served with 2006 Orlando Gramps Botrytis Semillon.
A very pleasant lunch enjoyed by all who attended.
