Dining out is an event to be savoured at Attilo Marinangeli’s restaurant which has remained at the forefront of Sydney fine dining for more than thirty years. Step into old world Italy at this elegant dining institution in Paddington. Attention to detail is flawless, from the genteel waitstaff to the Northern Italian menu prepared by Executive Chef Giuseppe Diandrea.

Unfortunately the weather was not on our side so our canapes of scallop tartlet and whitebait fritter which were complimented by the Carttier Champagne were enjoyed inside instead of on the terrace.
The rolled quail breast and almond crusted leg presented well and tasted even better. This was accompanied by 2003 Hoddles Creek Yarra Valley Pinot Noir (the masked wine).
The main - pan roasted hanger steak and king brown mushrooms was washed down by the 2000 Brands Cabernet Sauvignon was received well by the members and scored.
The mixed berry pavlova was a disappointment but the 2006 Wellington Ice Riesling was outstanding.
Horses Arse was won by Chris Gray (guest of Peter James who???) a great effort – variety, region, vintage and description spot on. The wine master will have to work harder.
